Request a Pick-Up in Somerville/Cambridge/Belmont/Medford
Check out with this item to request a porch pick-up of your unwanted art supplies for Wednesday, July 8th. Please only request a pick-up if you live in Cambridge/Somerville/Belmont/Medford or within .5miles of the border of these two cities. Please do not request a pick-up if you don't have a place where I can safely pick-up your items contact free. Please limit your donations to no more than two bags or boxes.
You will receive a reminder text the morning of pick-up.
Pick-ups will take place between 10:00am-2:00pm. Please place your items in a box or bag in a easily accessible area. Label the bags with "Make & Mend" or something similar so I can be certain it's for me.
Below is a list of items we're currently accepting. Please read it thoroughly and ask us directly if you have any questions.
Art and Craft
pens, pencils, colored pencils, markers, erasers, sharpeners, paints (oil, acrylic, watercolor but no house paints), paintbrushes, canvas, pastels, charcoal, clay (in small quantities), ink and ink pads, printmaking tools, calligraphy tools, stamps, stickers
watercolor paper, craft paper, scrap booking paper, wallpaper (samples), sketchbooks, notebooks, stationery, envelopes, highlighters, paperclips, post-it notes, glue, tape, bubble wrap, packing paper, memo books
art related books, coloring books, collage materials, handmade books and zines
thread, bobbins, knitting needles, sewing needles, aida cloth, fabric (larger than 10" x 10"), elastic, zippers, leather, pins, lace, hemp, embroidery floss, rulers, rotary cutters, scissors, stencils
Items that Make & Mend can never accept:
Yarn older than 10 years
Anything toxic, combustible or hazardous (including spray paints)
Anything with mold or mildew, especially pertaining to fabric and yarn
Books – except for art and craft-related
Clothing and clothing hangers
Fabric samples/tile samples
Furniture or House paint
Small pieces of fabric (anything under 10″ x 10″), Please no scraps!
Anything broken or needing repair, especially sewing machines
Binders or large office supplies
